Description: This is the base dirt layer created fo rthe model in Modo. The mesh was split in half and then 2 atlas mapped UVs were created, one for the main body and one for the extra "bits" 2 ambient occlusion maps with different settings were baked out to 4k texture sheets. I like to start at 4k and can reduce that to 2k later. Using Modo's transfer modes additional photographic texture layers were used to erode the ao maps and make them less unifiorm. These layers were all box or cubic mapped. An additional cubic mapped, photographic texture was used with "diffuse amount" transfer mode to add dirt to the surfaces on the rest of the ship.
